PRIMARY SCHOOL COURSES
HIGH SCHOOL COURSES
The Primary Regular Course is the program that is offered to all students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. These courses continue throughout the year (regardless of school holidays) and are designed to further develop and expand students’ knowledge and understanding of fundamentals in all subject areas.
The subjects offered to primary students doing the Regular Course are:
Maths: starting from basics, this course works up to challenging levels of problem-solving
English: develops a student’s reading comprehension skills, vocabulary and grammar – skills which also play an important role in many other subjects
General Ability: improves the student’s ability to reason logically
Writing Skills: an essential part of studying the English language, which gives a student confidence in his/her writing and general communication skills
The Regular Course classes run for an hour each.
It is important to monitor your child’s progress so that you can evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. For this reason, the MEGA test has been developed to allow students to revise the topics covered during a 12 – 13 week period. The exams are held under strict conditions in order to build your child’s confidence in exam situations. The subjects covered in the exam are: Maths, English and General Ability, hence the name MEGA.
Students are given a computerised multiple choice answer sheet, much like the answer sheets used in the OC and Selective entrance exams. Their results are then fed into a scanner that processes the data and compares their results to the students in all of our centres.

What is it?
The main purpose is to explain the solutions, methods and the techniques of the problem to students more thoroughly. The revision class will be based on the questions that were completed and already covered in the previous week. This will be an essential time for students to make sure that all concepts have been completely understood.
This is NOT a class for students to do their tuition homework. It is strictly to provide help with work covered in PREVIOUS weeks.
For Whom?
Tutorial Classes are open to all current JAC students enrolled in the regular course from Year 3 through to Year 10.
When?
Call your local JAC branch for times.
